Our friends at the Diplomatic Hotel have commended us to see Uspallata, in the Department of Las Heras in the province of The Region. This city is about 2000 m above sea level and is the provincial reference site for all those who enjoy pleasure trips in the mountains. Uspallata is in a vale between the mountains and foothills of the Andes. Because of this, it is commonly the point mountain climbers who aim to climb one of the most iconic mountains of Mendoza go, the Aconcagua, or Overo mount. It was at this same positioning where the film "Seven Years in Tibet" was shot, leading Brad Pitt, and set in the Himalayas.

The town of Uspallata provides multiple options for touristry in Cuyo. A few kilometres away is Mount Aconcagua Provincial Park, which looks to maintain this important mountain. Inside this protected area you can see the Inca Bridge, a strange rock formation settled 27 m above the river Las Cuevas. In this townsfolk you can visit a large hot spring, and the enchanting landscape, filled with fantastic colors that the inorganic composition of rocks is accountable for embellishing.

The Caves is some other fascinating place, just 88 kilometres from Uspallata, which holds marvelous treasures for the holidaymaker to discover. One of these locations of interest is the memorial to Christ the Redeemer. This memorial, depicting a large Christ giving his grace with a cross on his right hand, was built in 1904 to commemorate the union between Argentina and Chile. From here, a few kilometres, it is possible to access the Cristo Redentor iternational passage, located nearly 3200 meters above sea level, and is one of the main roads between Argentina and Chile.

In the settlement of Las Cuevas, you may see a beautiful small town with small houses built in Nordic and Scandinavian fashion, made of tmiber and stone. In the River Caves, you may practice rafting and kayaking. Here also lies the international rail corridor that links Argentina with Chile. In the region tourers can visit the glacier of the Lame Man and practise trekking and rappelling. This is emphatically one of the most enchanting options of touristry in The Area for extreme sports fans and for those who enjoy mountain activities. Simply ask the staff of the Diplomatic Hotel and they will arrange the most exciting outings in the heavenly province of Mendoza to places that cannot be skipped.
